GwFR2017: International Conference on Groundwater in Fractured Rocks
GwFR2017 will be held in the north of Portugal, in Chaves, a small city located in a fractured rock region where mineral and thermal waters coexist with water from phreatic fractured aquifers.
The congress is being organized by the IAH Network on Fractured Rock Hydrogeology, the IAH Portuguese and the IAH Spanish National Chapters, and is taking place between the 5 and 7 June 2017.
The Hydrogeology Journal (HJ), the official journal of IAH, will publish about 10 of the best and most-interesting conference papers as an HJ Topical Collection on’ ‘recent advances in fractured-rock hydrogeology’. On-line and publication in a paper issue of HJ is expected in early 2018.
The GwFR2017 Scientific Committee will select the best and most-interesting papers, based on the content of the accepted abstracts. Thus, it is advisable that the authors hoping to be included in this Collection should submit an extended abstract. Selected authors for the Topical Collection will then have (maximum) two months to prepare and submit their full papers to HJ.
Upon submittal to HJ, papers will undergo HJ’s normal scientific review and editorial process with no guarantee from the GwFR2017 Organizing or Scientific Committees that the submittals will be accepted for publication. However, because these will be among the best conference papers, chances of publication will be much higher than normal.
